Lambing was a huge success this year adding to our ever growing mob of Shetlands. We kindly borrowed a moorit tup XSherlock from Suzanne Meikle, which resulted in a great range of Shetland colours from moorit, bersugget and a real Shetland black. This allows me a greater range to blend natural colours and achieve darker shades through to a dark charcoal black. We had one cade moorit lamb - Filbert who I bottle-fed - and has now been weaned and is super friendly. I’m currently planning to breed him with some of our older ‘katmoget’ ewes next year who have got excellent, fine fleeces…
